Users are increasingly using voice assistants in public spaces

New survey results show a significant increase in the use of voice assistants in public spaces and while other people are also present. Although the voice assistants are still most often used at home alone or at home with friends. Because these are personal areas in which foreign persons can not be disturbed. However, almost half of all respondents use the voice assistant in restaurants with friends, which can be described as relatively public use.

And not only in restaurants with friends, the number of users has risen significantly, also in other public areas voice commands are used much more frequently.
Close behind the restaurant, the gym or a party are following and 25% of the users even admitted to use their voice assistant in the theater or in a public toilet.

This definitely speaks to the fact that more and more people feel much more comfortable with handling voice assistants and often have no problem with strangers listening to their conversations.

But how do strangers react when others use voice commands in public?

Here is a simple answer: Mixed!

Almost 50% of respondents feel strongly or very annoyed when others use voice commands in public, while the other 50% usually do not have a problem with it. Accordingly, there is still a long way to go until the perfect solutions are found and the handling of voice assistants in public becomes even more normal in everyday life.
